Beet Inc. is an Oregon State University (OSU)/Center for Sustainable Materials Chemistry (CSMC) spinout based on technologies developed through the Center for Inverse Design, a Department of Energy funded Energy Frontier Research Center. The Center's basic research aimed at identifying new materials for thin-film solar cells with enhanced functionality, ie light absorption.

We are developing high efficiency thin film solar cells based on a newly recognized absorber material platform. The proposed technology patented by the company founders, enables simple, polycrystalline thin film solar cell manufacturing in a tandem geometry allowing high photoconversion efficiencies, using low-cost raw materials and processes.
